Eyecandy

This is how eyecandy works at Giambattista Valli: with colorful foil pieces draped over the lids, the Italian couturier added sparkle beyond his frill-full collection. Whereas make-up artist Lauren Parson indicated the inspiration is coming from mosaic, we can’t unsee chocolate and candy-wrap reference. Playful, yet glamorous, the metallic layer adds exciting structure and fun vibe that feels more alive than we imagine a stone montage. Altought being fragile, there’s a certain strength whenever a metal finish is shining: a wonderful balance and accessoire to the romantic collection and the otherwise bare, by MAC products perfected complexion and brushed up brows.

And that methapor works for beauty and fashion alike. What’s sparkling on the eyes is a delight for the frontrow – gowns and suits with glitz and strass, flower embroidery and feathers, ruffles and super soft textures. Giambattista Valli knows what he serves best, but this season he upgraded his menue with a few silhouettes for men as well: shiny tweeds for overalls or cardigans. These looks are a statement in mensfashion, yes, but a finger-licking good one.

Questioning whats the real snack here, the fashion or the people wrapped in it? Last must be tasteful though, if they are wearing Giambattista Valli 😉
