The limbo that we are living in will turn psychedelic, exuberant with color and pattern–– it’s going to be Phantasmadelic!“ explains designer Anna Sui the vibe of her fall / winter 2021 collection – and although the trippy touch, there’s an ease to her collection, both visible in fashion and make-up.
Fresh, natural skin is adorned with minimalistic, yet galactic dazzle: a stroke of metallic color, a trace of a shooting star, leading to a meteroidic gem. Balmy lips and shiny, well-kept hair accompany the sweet sixties appeal that feel hyper-wearable, almost logic but also dreamy enough to transport us out of reality.
It’s not an abstract hallucination we see, but a controlled whimsicalness, an awoken dream and touchable fantasy.
