Fluffy clouds of hair, embellished, sparkling caps: hairstylist and Bumble and Bumble artist Laurent Phillipon’s made Christian Cowan’s new disco show complete by adding the right dose of glam. As soon as the tight braids were released, hair brushed and put into shape, the mood was full on discotheque without being cheesy – Philippon managed to create a unique balance between elegance and extravaganza.
Isamaya French completed the style with exaggerated after-hour-clown eyes and pouty doll lips.

Christian Cowan is a kind of star downtown, famous for dressing night creatures such as the iconic Suzanne Bartsch or Aquaria, the winner of Ru Paul’ show season 10. He is to NYFW what Matty Bovan is to London : a cherished UFO. His fashions, tho, are this season much more wearable than ever. Underneath fluffy feathers, the mini mini dresses, often displayed in leather, are simply perfect.
The neon vibes are right in trend and his mix of sportswear and high drama reminds us of our favorite drag queens in the middle of their transformational art or in their off duty outfits.
