Milan Fashion Week F/W 19/20:

Versace

We all know Donatella Versace won’t do things half way. Once again la biondissima confirms her brave boldness about reinventing the family brand. Themed grunge (the soundtrack was  Hole and Nirvana put into techno remixes), the collection was actually about „glunge“. The messy hairstyles created by Guido Palau, the oversized coats, cowboy boots transformed into mules, wooly beanies and ripped knitwear set the idea and underlined the story telling well. So did the numerous safety pins, chosen by Donatella as a leitmotiv for the collection and coming right away from the archives circa 1995. But the show was much more than a celebration of the past and showcased many strong and fresh ideas. The lingerie inspired looks had an incredible modern swag, far beyond any Courtney Love reminiscence. So dit the bodycon evening dresses, often decorated with all the baroque Versace signatures. After Shalow Harlow last season, Donatella welcomed this time the iconic supermodel Stephanie Seymour to close her OTT fashion show.
