Black laquered shelves, white fluffy sofas, modern technology and traditional French face care: Carita’s reopened La Maison De Beauté merges its rich history with Zeitgeisty style, cozy corners with state of the art cosmetic innovation.
Opened as a luxury hair salon 1945 by Carita sisters Maria and Rosy at the very same address, 11 Rue Du Faubourg St Honoré, La Maison quickly became a hotspot for the Parisian high society. They were mingling with Pierre Cardin and Hubert de Givenchy, closely connected to the fashion scene.
Maria and Rosy could quickly expanded, a adding more beauty services and started attracting international celebrities such as Greta Gabor and Sophia Loren.
The black and white portraits of their elite clientele and also their elegant aura still grace this space.
The two women kept on innovating by launching their skincare line in the mid 50s and a training center for estheticians. Transformation has been the sisters specialty – be it the beauty industry or for a womans appearance.
Independent, elegant and personal: the Carita touch is still present and even enhanced within the renovated maison.
A hair salon, hosted by John Nollet, an Eye Studio for all beautification around and between brows and lashes, a restaurant (run by chef Amandine Chaignot, an emblematic woman of the Parisian culinary landscape) and custom-made facials in the four treatment room or in the exclusive suite are part of La Maison De Beauté.
And even if you don’t seek a cosmetic consultation (well, you should: Treatments are personalized, each room catches a glimpse of day light and once you got comfy between the soft scent and supple sheets, it’ll be hard to leave again…yet, if you do, you get up with a healthy glow just as rosy as the marble walls) the airy architecture and light-filled space is worth a visit already, the spirit and style of the founders is feelable in all details and the unique, quintessential French, atmosphere.
