Fendi
A 54 years (the longest ever in fashion history) collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld had its emotional epilogue today. For Silvia Venturini Fendi, Karl was not only a mentor but a friend and a real family member, almost like a 5th auntie. The news of his passing were felt here probably most intense than anywhere else. But the show must go on and, for this very particular moment, the roman house delivered one of her best collections ever, with a very high sense of elegance. All the bourgeois codes (the beiges, the full skirts, …) are renewed with a modern twist: transparency, monochrome fluid dresses, tech knit and an edgy shoulder line made it very 2019. Long life to Fendi in a new chapter, starting from now.
