Boyish styled hair is back, literally!
It was not just another sleek look at Thom Browne’s show – beauty, especially the hair, has an intention and is also a reflection of his vision.
The classic masculine do felt surprisingly subtle being a creation of Eugene Souleiman, Wella’s Global Creative Director of Care & Styling – who is usually known for wild, almost sculptural works.
But behind the softly back brushed hairstyles is a strong inspiration: British poet Marguerite Radclyffe Hall. The writer got famous in the early 20th century for her lesbian literature and the slicked back hair (a perfect match for the collections theme – Read about the fashion inspiration here).
Souleiman updated the look and added delicateness with a hint of volume and looser, slightly fully lengths or soft braids – still strong, but with the right dose feminity to adjust the aesthetic code to modern times.
